Born in Houston, Texas, Dr. Lauren Battley has had an interest in women’s health and obstetrics from a young age stemming from volunteering at a prenatal clinic during high school. She graduated cum laude from Texas A&M University with a degree in biology and went on to attend medical school at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Battley subsequently completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, IL.
While attending medical school, she learned the breadth of the specialty which furthered her interest. She enjoys caring for women of all ages starting with adolescents seeking contraceptive consultation to women transitioning into menopause, as well as caring for women through their pregnancies. Dr. Battley desires to provide individualized care to each of her patients through shared decision making by providing patients with education to make informed decisions regarding their care. During her residency, she gained a special interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries.
In her spare time, Dr. Battley enjoys Aggie football, traveling, trying out new recipes, and visiting local restaurants and coffee shops with her husband who is also a physician specializing in neurology.
