Dr. Jeffrey M. Thurston has been caring for women in North Texas since 1986. Dr.Thurston was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and raised in Chappaqua, NY; Houston, TX; and Tulsa, OK. He attended Rice University where he received a BA in biology, graduating cum laude to go on to Baylor College of Medicine where he graduated magna cum laude. Dr. Thurston completed his residency at University of California at San Francisco where he served as the administrative chief resident from 1985-86. Active in the practice of obstetrics, gynecology, and infertility, Dr. Thurston feels blessed to have touched the lives of so many families over the years.

Dr. Thurston and his wife Patricia, a retired Registered Nurse who volunteered for many years for a crisis hotline, have four grown children, six grandchildren (thus far), and a nearly perfect 70-pound Australian Labradoodle, WINDSOR!! Dr. Thurston has served as a clinical professor at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and has a Masters in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary. He is an accomplished sailor, holding a Captain’s License with a 50 Ton Master’s Certification. Raise Me Up is their Catalina 350 on Penobscot Bay, Maine. Dr. Thurston also plays a 1954 Louis Ganora Violin from Monfalcone, Italy, and is gradually becoming more accomplished. His golf game needs considerable work,  however. Dr. Thurston formerly appeared on WFAA’s “Good Morning Texas,” where he was a regular contributor on women’s health issues.

He has appeared on more than 400 radio shows discussing the OBGYN issues and women’s healthcare. Dr. Thurston is the author of four books, including Death of Compassion, 1000 Questions About Your Pregnancy, and Disrobe Completely: Real Life Cases Reveal the State of American Medicine. He is also the author of numerous peer-reviewed scientific papers covering OBGYN issues. Dr. Thurston’s pregnancy books are available on Amazon.com and all eBook formats. (Revised July 2021) 

His newest book, Doing Life 365 Daily Devotions, became available in early 2022. These devotions, arising out of his son in law’s cancer diagnosis, draw on his 40 years of experience in medicine, formal theological training at DTS, music, sailing, and his joy of children and dogs! We live in a world driven to the brink by natural disasters, political divisiveness, a pandemic, race tensions, and relentless wars.
